Travel Diary: Hong Kong/Macau Day 2

Monday, March 30, 2015

March 17, 2015: Tuesday

Yay! Day 2 of my Hong Kong Travel Diary is up! (Sorry it took so long, I was procrastinating huhu) On the second day of our trip, we spent the day at Macau instead of Hong Kong. We took the ferry going to Macau and back to Hong Kong. The ride was about an hour and a half.

When we arrived at the terminal, we went straight to Galaxy hotel and it was huge! There were lots of restaurants to dine in and stores to shop in.

We had lunch at Festiva. (which was also in the hotel) It was also a buffet and the food was great!

After eating lunch at Festiva, we went to this sort of town where there were tons of tourist attractions (such as Museums and Churches). It was a bit tiring to go up and down the hill, but it was a great experience.

To our day in Macau, we went to this hotel called Venetian. It was a great hotel too and like Galaxy, it was hotel with lots of restaurants and shops!

Check out my friend Alayna's post on her blog here.

Travel Diary: Hong Kong Day 1

Friday, March 27, 2015
March 16, 2015: Monday

Hello everyone! As promised, I would make a travel diary for Hong Kong (In Kowloon, to be more specific). I arrived on March 16th and as soon as we arrived, we went around the airport and went to our hotel, Marco Polo Gateway.

Then we went to Silvercord and ate at Citysuper food court for lunch.

For dinner, we ate at Ippudo HK and I ordered the Pork Ramen.

After dinner, we went to a fairy light show and it was really fun and spectacular!

The fairy light show was really near the Hong Kong Harbour and the Hong Kong Harbour was just breathtaking.

Some soft-served vanilla ice cream to end the day!

Friday Favorites: iOS Apps

Well, it's summer. As I said before, most of my summer breaks are not the most productive kinds. (Whoops!) So as a result, I end up spending most of my summer days in a cocoon of gadgets. All I do is use my gadgets, mostly my phone and computer. I've already given recommendations for all the series' and movies you could watch over the summer. So I thought why not give a list of apps I love?

You Are More

Do you ever just feel like fate is cruel to you? Or did you ever think that you were made with more disadvantages compared to others? Well let me tell you something, we were all made in different ways. We were all sent here for a reason. We were made to be special, to be unique and to make a difference. Never let anyone tell you that you are less.

Do you remember how as little kids (or even until now) we watched Disney movies? These Disney movies taught us that we are truly somebody special, that we can do amazing things if only we tried hard enough. Sure, dreaming is one thing, but JUST dreaming will not exactly get you to your goal, you really have to work for it. Make sure you have the passion and motivation to get there.

There was this certain movie that really inspired me. Remember Mike Wazowski from Monsters, Inc. and Monsters University? He was bullied as a child just because he was small and that “he did not belong” in the scaring world, and it was even his dream to become the best scaring monster there was. In the end, he eventually proved them all wrong. He really did something to achieve his goals. Yes, it did take quite a long time until he reached the Scare Team, but it’s just how it is. In the end, it was fulfilling and worth it. What I’ve learned from Mike is that you shouldn't let anything stop you from achieving your goals. If you listen to all the people trying to pull you down, even consider it as a “compliment” because it just means that they are jealous and they’ve that realised that you will get there. Don’t let them dictate the flow of your life. It is your life and nothing can stop you from getting to your goal.

Although, there may be some scenarios wherein your loved ones/people you trust are telling you that this certain goal is getting out of hand, and you really have to listen to them and think it through, maybe it is something you really have to think about.

Nevertheless, we are all humans and we all make mistakes.  We just have to learn from them to achieve our dreams.

Tips For Finals Week

Monday, March 16, 2015
For some of us, finals are coming up! As for me, it's already my Summer break. Let me give you some of the things that I did last week that helped me study for finals and still be able to do my other priorities!

#1: Never Be Sleep Deprived.
Sleeping is an important key to be able to think properly for your finals the next day. Cramming your lesson until 2am will not exactly help since none of the lessons will be absorbed into your head! So make sure to catch up on your Z's.

#2: Eat Healthier Snacks, Never Skip Meals.
According to research, eating healthy snacks will help you think properly whilst studying and it can help you too on the exam itself if you eat healthy foods during breaks and all of the meals of the day. Also, make sure to never skip any of the meals of the day, it always helps you think!

#3: Close All Your Gadgets and Place It Somewhere Hidden!
If you're like most people, you're easily distracted by your gadgets. So I've created a simple solution to stay focused for studying on your finals! I suggest that you shut down all your gadgets and place it in different cabinets or some place closed that's far away from the desk you're studying on.

#4: Stay In An Organized Place.
For me, I just CANNOT and I mean, CANNOT study whenever I'm staying in a messy place. I literally have to re-organize it so that I'll be able focus. So if you're like me, just organize your desk whenever you're free. Sort your materials into different places so that when you look for it, it would be easier to find. More time for studying! Yay!

#5: Take Breaks In Between Subjects.
Set a timer for about 5-10 minutes and just wake yourself up! Wash your face, treat yourself (maybe eat your favorite healthy dessert, or anything relaxing of course! But never use breaks to play with your gadgets, unless of course, it's about research!)

#6: Start With The Easiest Subject/The Subject You Like The Most.
Whenever I do this, it just seems more effective. I'm more motivated and I can just start the study session right!

#7: Set A Time For Each Subject
Well of course you don't have the whole day to study for your exams, you still have other priorities! So, set a timer for each subject, allot maybe 2 hours for each subject. Although, depending on the difficulty of it.

Well, that's all the tips I have for now. Good luck to all of those taking their finals! Hope these tips have helped.

My Night Routine

Wednesday, March 11, 2015
Hello everyone! As some of you know, it's finally SUMMER VACATION for me so I'll have more time to make blog posts (HOORAY!) So let's get to the real point of this blog post,  so, it's Sleep Awareness Week and for those of you who don't know, yes that's a thing! (haha)

In honor of Sleep Awareness Week, I have decided to create a blog post dedicated to my night routine.

So here is the night routine (for school days):

1. First, when I get home, I take a shower.
-After a long day at school, I relax myself by taking a shower! (Comment down below, what are the things that de-stress your day?)

2. Then, I just chill and watch some TV or maybe go onto my computer or phone.
-I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one, but technology is basically my life...

3. Then, I eat dinner with my family at around 8pm or 8:30pm.
-Make sure to always find time to bond with your family. Remember, your time here on Earth is limited.

4. Then I review for my quizzes for school the following day (if there is any).
-Well, you gotta make sure to pass all of those quizzes lined up!

5. I use my computer or phone just to end the day.
-Basing from the graphic below, I'm an iSleeper.

6. Finally, I call it a night and go to sleep.

Here is my night routine (for Summer):

1. Whenever, it's Summer, I usually don't do anything much throughout the day (yes, I know, how lame).
-I've never really had plans for my Summer breaks, I just thought of it as a time to rest! :-)

2. I take a shower.

3. I eat my dinner with my family at around 8pm or 8:30pm.
-As I said, dinner/meals with your family is very necessary so that you can bond with them.

4. I just use my computer and phone (as usual...)
-As you can tell, technology is an essential to my daily life.

5. I call it a night and go to sleep.

From the graphic below, I would say that I'm an iSleeper because as you can see from my routine above, I use my technology A LOT. Whether it's daytime or nighttime, I'm glued to my phone.

In honor of Sleep Awareness Week, a new mattress company called Casper came up with this goofy graphic to categorize the most common types of sleepers. Casper knows that bedtime is the best time with their hybrid latex and memory foam mattresses. Check out some of their reviews here. From this graphic, I would say that I'm an iSleeper because, as you can see from my routine above, I use my technology A LOT. Whether it's daytime or nighttime I'm glued to my phone. What kind of sleeper are you? Tell me in the comments down below!

Co/Op

Friday, March 6, 2015
Hello everyone! TGIF, so earlier this evening, we had dinner at this amazing café and gift shop (They sold the cutest decorative items and amazing food!) It was called CO/OP. The service was great too! I really look forward to coming back soon.

Iced Tea.

Strawberry Lemonade.

How their shop looks like, which was right beside their restaurant. Which in my opinion, was a really great concept!

Cobb Salad.

Chicken Pesto.

I forgot what it was exactly called, but I'm pretty sure it was "Shrimp Bistro"

Grilled Cheese Sandwich and Turkey Sandwich.
