They also served the food really fast! The food was great!

We also ordered Almond Shake, and it tasted great!

I would definitely go back to this restaurant soon.

Random Acts Of Kindness

Friday, February 13, 2015

Love is in the air! So is kindness.

This February, regardless of your relationship status with someone, BE KIND TO THEM AND SHARE THE LOVE!

How do I get involved?
Getting involved is simple! Simply do random acts of kindness from February 13 - February 17. This is Valentine's Day weekend through Random Acts of Kindness day. Be sure to take pictures and share your photos on Instagram or Twitter using the hashtag #RAOKmoments. When you do an act of kindness, be sure to leave a small note for the person to find. I've even created a free printable to make it easier for you!

Here are some examples of random acts of kindness that you can do:

1. Help someone when they are struggling with something.

2. Buy your friend a snack.

3. Smile at a stranger. You never know if they've had a bad day, your smile may make their day better.

4. Befriend an acquaintance you've known for some time now.

5. Make an uplifting and inspiring letter to someone who you know is having a hard time.

6. Volunteer in a reach-in or outreach and help the less fortunate.

7. Appreciate everything someone gives you, no matter how small it may be.

8. Compliment someone and it may just make their whole day!

9. Cook their favorite dishes.

10. Spend some quality time together.

We hope that you will get involved in #RAOKmoments!

I hope that you won't only do these random acts of kindness only on the month, February, but I hope that you would apply these acts of kindness in your everyday life. Well, you do know what they say "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." So start spreading the love and kindness!

Also, mark this on your calendars, February 17th- Random Acts Of Kindness Day.

Hello everyone! So today, I've added a new segment to my blog. It'll either be Saturday/Sunday Six/Seven. It's basically six or seven things posted on a Saturday or Sunday. I will TRY to keep it as consistent as possible. This week, I'll be posting SEVEN QUOTES, hope you all enjoy!

Whenever you feel down, just look at these quotes and all the other quotes I have on this blog. Realise that there is more to life than just being down. Remember, your time here on this Earth is limited, so may as well just make it a wonderful time.

Also, I hope you like my new blog signature! :-)

Pancake House

Monday, February 2, 2015
Hello everyone! So last friday night, I went to Pancake House in Robinsons Magnolia Mall, since I live literally 5 minutes away from it and Pancake House is one of my favorite restaurants!

I was supposed to post this yesterday but I had loads of things to do (which were fun, but tiring) and I kinda took a nap... Okay, on to the post now!

We ordered the Hearty Pan Chicken Set, which was so good!

Here, we have the appetizer, which is salad, that tasted amazing!

Next up, we had mashed potatoes which I loved! It tasted like butter with the mashed potatoes which tasted great as well!

Of course, the pan chickens. It comes in 5 but I forgot to photograph it at first, so I only got to capture the picture at 3 chickens! :-(

This didn't really come with the set, but I really love ordering the cinnamon toast for dessert. You have to spread the whipped cream on the cinnamon toast and pour maple syrup over it! Yum!

Alright, hope you enjoyed that post! Stay tuned, I have lots of other exciting posts coming!

Interviewing Bloggers About Their Blogging Experiences: Batch 2

Sunday, February 1, 2015
Hello everyone! Here's the last batch! :-)

Liv Laugh & Love Leopard
1.    What made you decide to start your blog?
One of my sorority sisters had a life & style blog and was a style guru at College Fashionista. I always dressed to make myself happy but never actually realized how much other people admired my sense of style until she interviewed me for an article in College Fashionista. From that moment on I always knew that I would start a blog of my own.

2.    How old were you when you decided to start your blog?
I started my blog this past May, at age 19.

3.    What inspires you the most whenever you make a blog post?
This is going to sound crazy but my closet inspires me. My closet is my happy place. Whenever I need inspiration for a blog post I experiment in my closet and find articles of clothing I haven’t worn in a while or fun textures that I want to play with.

4.    Do you have a schedule on publishing your blog posts? If so, when?
In October I did a 30 day challenge where I did a blog post every day for 30 days. It was definitely the most challenging thing I have experienced as a blogger. Since then I try to post at least two or three times a week depending of my schedule.

5.    Who are your favorite bloggers?
SocietyGrl is my favorite blogger ever. It is amazing to see how she made a name for herself through her blog and social media accounts. I love her fashion sense and am obsessed with her clothes!

6.    Who or what inspired you to start your very own blog?
My sorority sister definitely put the idea of starting a blog in my head. Ever since then my family and friends inspired me to actually start my own blog. They have been so supportive and have acted as photographers on so many occasions!

7.    What was the hardest thing that you have come across in your blogging journey?
Throughout my blogging journey the time commitment has definitely been the hardest part. With so many meetings, homework and clinical hours I struggle to find time for blogging. I am a perfectionist and want to give my readers the best work that I can. Finding the time to put into writing and promoting blog posts properly and to my best of my ability is a constant struggle.

8.    What was your greatest achievement in your blogging experience?
My all-time greatest achievement as a blogger is when a reader comments to say that my post has inspired them or made their day. I love being able to inspire people whether it is with fashion or in their every day life. I love interacting with my readers because they make this whole journey worthwhile!

The Girl Who Does Everything is a blog about everything from college life to family life to Christian faith to random rants to everything in between!

And here are the answers to the questions:

1. I love writing and I always have but I was never very talented with a computer so I think that's what held me back from starting a blog sooner.

2. I started my original blog when I was 18. Since then I have started a new one.

3. I get inspired by so many things. I think that's the reason why my blog is just a random collection of lists, guides, stories, etc. Pinterest inspires me so much. Some days I scroll through my news feed and see pictures and other blog posts that I want to write my own post about. I also get inspiration from everyday life. I like to read things about real people and real lives so that's how I like to write.

4. I don't have a very strict schedule (yet) but I try to post at least twice a week. But I can't make any promises!

5. I have a few favorite bloggers. I like reading Morgan's blog at mostlymorgan.com and Jordan's blog at stellaireblog.blogspot.com

6. The reason I actually wanted to start a blog is kind of a long story. I am totally Pinterest obsessed and I joined a group "Chat Board" with about 100 other girls in their teens. They would all post little thing to try to get to know each other and make internet friends and I thought that was cool, but I felt like I was so much older than them. Sometimes I would notice that a lot of the girls would ask for advice about things they were going through or they would talk about how much they hated being bullied because of how they looked or how they dressed. I could totally relate to them and I started giving them advice. Some girls started specifically asking me for advice with bullying or self harm or relationships and I answered them as soon as I could. I just have a natural love for helping and counseling people. Eventually I had several girls a day asking for advice and before I knew it I was giving people my email address so I could answer their questions more efficiently. Pinterest has a character limit on the comments and if I commented too much I would be temporarily blocked because they thought I was spamming. When I give people advice I have a lot to say and I just couldn't deal with the character limitations. That's why I gave them my email.

Then I realized that I was getting asked a lot of the same questions all the time and that's when I finally decided to start a blog. I realized that I could help so many girls by answering one person's question. Some girls are looking for answers but a lot of the times they are too shy to ask for help. By starting my first blog I was able to answer so many girl's questions as well as give them advice at the same time. If you want to check out some of my embarrassing first blog posts then you can find them here

7. Probably the hardest thing to come across in my blogging journey is to not give up blogging. I started my blog for two reasons - because I love writing and because I want to influence people. Sometimes I would get discouraged because I feel as though no one reads my blog or I have very few subscribers. But then I have to remember that I have a blog because I love writing. I also have to keep in mind that making an impact on just one life is still making an impact.

8. I actually think I have two great achievements so far in my blogging journey. The first thing I did was purchase my own domain and self host my blog. This was a huge step for me because I finally felt like I was taking blogging so much more seriously once I was self hosted. The second is that I became part of the Her Campus Blogger Network. This was great for me because I felt like I was part of an awesome community of great bloggers who would ultimately help me do greater things with my blog and my writing!

Blog | http://joojooazad.com/
About the Blogger | Hoda Katebi is an Iranian-Muslim born and raised in Oklahoma, USA and now attending the University of Chicago majoring in International Relations and Middle Eastern Studies. She enjoys birds and cheesecake. Her violin’s name is Rumi, after her favorite poet.

About the Blog | JooJoo Azad, meaning “Free Bird” in Farsi, is a fashion and social action blog filled with photography of personal style, DIYs, ethical fashion, and the occasional travel journal. In this space Hoda integrates her love of fashion as an art form with humanitarianism and ethics. Warning: this blog is more than just pretty pictures.

1. What made you decide to start your blog?
As someone who read several fashion blogs religiously, starting my own blog was always something in the back of my mind. It wasn’t until the summer after my freshman year in college when a new wave of Islamaphobia was hitting and a pregnant Muslim woman in France lost her baby in a hate attack, that I decided it was about time to take my representation as an Iranian-Muslim woman into my own hands and create a voice for myself rather than let the media create a false image of who I am.

2. How old were you when you decided to start your blog?
I was 18.

3. What inspires you the most whenever you make a blog post?
For my fashion posts, I am heavily inspired by menswear, modern and pop art, and the streetstyle of wherever I’m living at the moment—I like to call my style akin to unicorn throw-up. My social action posts are honestly inspired by my readers and their questions and whatever is relevant to current events.

4. Do you have a schedule on publishing your blog posts? If so, when?
I try my best to publish every other day at 4:00am CST (although how well I stick to said schedule is debatable…)

5. Who are your favorite bloggers?
I love Andy Torres of StylescrapbookFashiononymous, and K is for Kani

6. Who or what inspired you to start your very own blog?
See no. 1

7. What was the hardest thing that you have come across in your blogging journey?
The most difficult thing for me as a fashion and social action blogger is balancing expressing myself through fashion and not encouraging consumerism. I admit that fashion blogs, in themselves, encourage readers to buy, but as someone who is trying to encourage limits on consumption and ethical shopping, this can get rather tricky.

8. What was your greatest achievement in your blogging experience?
My greatest achievement quite simply is anytime someone tells me that they no longer support unethical brands, are incorporating social action into their own posts, or that they have started thinking differently about Islam/Muslims.

Ally Gagliardo
Preppy Little Lesbian
East Carolina University

Hello, my name is Ally. I'm 19 years old. I'm a ECU Pirate Freshman. I'm an Interior Design Major with a business minor. I was born and raised in North Carolina. I have been dating my girlfriend for 3 years in November. I am definitely perfectionistic, and an avid organizer. I binge watch Netflix a little bit too much, but who doesn't? I started my blog about a year ago, and it's turned into one of the best things that I have ever done. I love how many people I've met through this little old blog, and all of the opportunities that have come my way!

1. What made you decide to start your blog?
Somehow I found the College Prepster blog and once I started reading it regularly, I realized I wanted to start one too!

2. How old were you when you decided to start your blog?
I was 18!

3. What inspires you the most whenever you make a blog post?
Usually it’s a combination of things! Inspiration comes from everywhere. I could be sitting in class one day and just randomly get an idea for a post!

4. Do you have a schedule on publishing your blog posts? If so, when?
Yes, every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 11am!

5. Who are your favorite bloggers?
College Prepster, Everyday Elegance, Southern Curls and Pearls, and so many more!

6. Who or what inspired you to start your very own blog?
College Prepster!

7. What was the hardest thing that you have come across in your blogging journey?
I didn’t really know much about blogging before I started a blog, so that’s probably the hardest part.

8. What was your greatest achievement in your blogging experience?
I didn’t expect to have as much of a following that I do! It’s really great that I’m putting so much work into something and people actually like it!

Victim To Charm is a blog dedicated to showing the things I'm "charmed" by--primarily storytelling, travel, social justice, and photography. It ranges from artistic to analytical and truly represents who I am and what's important to me.

1. I had a bunch of ideas and personal anecdotes I wanted to share but I didn't have an outlet for them. Then my friend mentioned to me that she was starting a blog, and we decided to take on that project together to make it even more fun and keep each other accountable.

2. I was 17 and in my first year of college when I started my blog.

3. I'm inspired by the world around me--conversations I have, previous experiences, opinions, current events--and the media I consume, including books and blog posts.
4. I have a rough schedule that goes as far out as May, but I change my mind ALL THE TIME and day-to-day things come up that I end up wanting to discuss on a time-sensitive basis. I usually post M/W/F with the occasional weekend post. I tend to reserve either Friday or Saturday for The Daily Post's Weekly Photo Challenge, but if the prompt doesn't strike me or I have other pieces planned, I skip it.

5. I read hundreds of blogs. Some of my favorites are Erin J. Bernard's essay blog, Catherine Zhang's college/lifestyle blog, Basil and Oil's food posts, Leanne Cole's photography blog, and The Nomadic Lifestyle (a travel blog).
6. See #1.

7. The hardest thing is making time. I'm obsessed with my blog, and I would absolutely love to post every day and spend time interacting with other bloggers on social media, but I'm also a full-time student with a part-time job, plus other extracurricular and service commitments. Blogging is much more time-consuming that people outside the blogosphere realize. I've had a few friends decide to start blogs after reading mine, and they always come to me and say, "it's so hard!" or "it takes so much time!" and I tell them that I know, that blogging is a huge endeavor to take on even if it doesn't seem that way from reading.

8. My greatest tangible achievement was getting Freshly Pressed, which is essentially the editors of WordPress telling me that my piece was one of their favorites and deserves a feature. It's a highly coveted "award" by WP bloggers, and I was so thrilled when I heard the news. Besides that, I think my entire archives are an incredible achievement, and the friends I've made are beyond amazing as well.

Make Shift Munch
I’m Rachel, a four foot ten bundle of energy with a passion for fashion as well as the law. It’s my first year of law school and I’m hoping to practice Fashion Law one day in NYC [specifically trademark, licensing, intellectual property focused]. I love expressing myself through what I wear and getting to know others by what they choose to put on each morning. That’s mostly why I chose to study the law: to protect designers and creators so we can all continue making awesome choices for ourselves in the world of fashion [even designs I’m not crazy about…]. For example, I’d never be caught dead in grunge, but I’ll defend to the death a grunge designer’s ideas. Fashion is an art derived from some of the most creative minds in existence, and I can’t wait to be a part of that someday.

1. What made you decide to start your blog?
I wanted a place to share my interest and fashion and be able to express myself. I loved the idea of having something that was entirely mine.

2. How old were you when you decided to start your blog?
20

3. What inspires you the most whenever you make a blog post?
Something I have a strong opinion/interest in or anything I think my readers should hear about.

4. Do you have a schedule on publishing your blog posts? If so, when?
I usually post on even days, but really just try to have 2-3 posts per week.

5. Who are your favorite bloggers?
— Raquel from Simply Raquel Collette
— Carly from The College Prepster
— Sydney from Summer Wind

6. Who or what inspired you to start your very own blog?
Sydney from Summer Wind, we had a class together in undergrad and she’s such a genuine person.

7. What was the hardest thing that you have come across in your blogging journey?
Sometimes it can be hard to continue if you feel as though people aren’t reading what you write.

8. What was your greatest achievement in your blogging experience?
Probably my first sponsored post — it was awesome knowing a brand had been following along with me and liked what I was posting.

I am a 20 year old Jersey girl blogging her way through college in Connecticut, with the hopes of making it big in the big apple. With one cute shoe at a time, while wearing my Alpha Delta Pi letters, I am blogging my way through Greek life, fashion, beauty, boys, and other adventures. Life won’t sparkle unless you do and I’m determined to make my life sparkle and shine!

1. What made you decide to start your blog?
During spring break of my freshman year at Quinnipiac, I attended a College Media Association convention. While at the convention, blogging was often brought up. Speakers discussed how it can help you set yourself apart from your peers, how it will help you market yourself, and explained just how beneficial it could be. I knew I wanted to ultimately make it in the journalism  field, so I felt that a blog was a step in the right direction.

2. How old were you when you decided to start your blog?
I started my blog when I was 18 years old, after completing my freshman year of college.

3. What inspires you the most whenever you make a blog post?
My favorite magazines, Cosmopolitan and Seventeen, help inspire me. Not only do I read their actual magazines, but I’m often checking their Twitter accounts to see articles that they post. I ultimately want to be a journalist in the fashion, beauty, celeb, lifestyle world, so these articles are always beneficial for ideas. I also check out to see what fellow bloggers are doing!

4. Do you have a schedule on publishing your blog posts? If so, when?
Honestly, no. I probably should and it is something I am looking into. However, sometimes it is just too hard to publish posts that far in advance. Between having the time to write posts far in advance and even coming up with many ideas far in advance, I don’t always get to be as timely as I would like. I do always post once a week, but ideally plan for three posts a week. Sometimes that plan goes well, sometimes not so much.

5. Who are your favorite bloggers?
My alltime favorite blog is Total Sorority Move, which is a satirical blog of Greek Life. They focus on the “basic” and “ratchet” stereotypical sorority girl and always leaves me laughing. To be honest, I even follow many of their writers on Twitter and Instagram because I think their posts are just so funny. I would love to ultimately let my sarcastic, sassy self shine out more in my posts. I don’t believe in taking life, or yourself, too seriously - which is why I think these satirical posts on Greek life, written by sorority women, are hysterical.

6. Who or what inspired you to start your very own blog?
As I mentioned earlier, the CMA conference inspired me to start my blog. If Carrie Bradshaw had to start somewhere, so do I. So I decided, why not let my starting place be my own personal blog!

7. What was the hardest thing that you have come across in your blogging journey?
Time management has definitely been the hardest part! I consider myself very good with time management - balancing classes, homework, my sorority, being an R.A., my school’s television station, Sparkle and Shine, plus going to the gym, eating, and something called a social life. Some days/weeks are more stressful than others, so I don’t get to post as much as I want or even explore options for later posts. Blogging is like a 40+ hour a week job!

8. What was your greatest achievement in your blogging experience?
My greatest achievement, by far, was becoming a member of the Seventeen Magazine Social Club. Then, I was asked to renew my contract with them in 2015!
